DATE COMPLETED

May 2023

Jeruty Films is a UK-based production agency specialising in film, commercials, online content, corporate video, and documentary production. Trusted by international brands, agencies, and production companies, they operate across the Midlands and London with an agile, streamlined production model.

I was approached by co-founder Anderson West, someone I had previously worked with, to design and develop a website that would reflect the maturity, creativity, and professionalism of the Jeruty brand.

The goal was simple:
Create a visually compelling, cinematic website that positions Jeruty Films as a trusted, premium production partner.

Although Jeruty Films had strong industry experience and an impressive portfolio, their digital presence did not fully communicate:

  • - The quality and scale of their production work
  • - Their credibility with recognised brands
  • - Their positioning in the commercial and documentary space
  • - A clear narrative around who they are and what makes them different

As a film agency, their website needed to:

  • - Feel cinematic and immersive
  • - Showcase video work effectively
  • - Be clean and minimal without overpowering the visuals
  • - Work seamlessly across desktop and mobile
  • - Reflect their confident, modern brand identity

The challenge was balancing strong visual storytelling with clarity and usability.

1. Discovery & Direction
I began by understanding:

  • - Their target audience (brands, agencies, charities, production companies)
  • - Their core services (Commercial | Documentary | Online Content)
  • - Their tone — authentic, story-driven, human-centred
  • - Their long-term growth goals

Because I had worked with Anderson before, there was strong trust and alignment, allowing for efficient decision-making and focused execution.

2. Visual Identity & Tone
The brand already had a strong dark green palette and bold typography. I expanded on this by:

  • - Using deep green overlays to create cinematic contrast
  • - Allowing film stills and video thumbnails to dominate visually
  • - Keeping typography bold, confident, and minimal
  • - Creating strong white space to let the content breathe

The design language intentionally feels editorial — almost like a film title sequence — rather than a corporate brochure.

3. UX & Structure
I structured the site to guide users naturally:

Homepage
  • - Immediate brand statement: “We Are Jeruty Films”
  • - Clear positioning (Film • Commercial • Documentary)
  • - Hero video to establish credibility instantly
  • - Strong visual storytelling blocks

Our Work
  • - Portfolio-first layout
  • - Clean grid showcasing projects
  • - Clear hierarchy and easy scanning

Who We Are
  • - Personal introduction to the founders
  • - Humanising the brand with photography
  • - Social proof (testimonial placement)

Our Services
  • - Clear breakdown of production capabilities
  • - Simple, accessible copy

The navigation was intentionally simple to reduce friction and keep focus on the work.

4. Development
As both designer and front-end developer on the project, I ensured:

  • - Smooth video embedding and playback
  • - Responsive performance across devices
  • - Fast loading speeds
  • - Consistent visual spacing across breakpoints

The cinematic feel had to remain intact on mobile — which meant careful scaling of typography, overlays, and video placement.

The finished website successfully:

  • - Elevated Jeruty’s digital presence
  • - Positioned them as a premium, story-led production agency
  • - Clearly communicated their services and experience
  • - Strengthened credibility with brands and charities
  • - Created a cohesive online identity aligned with their filmmaking style

The site feels confident, modern, and immersive; mirroring the quality of their production work. Most importantly, it gives potential clients immediate trust within seconds of landing on the homepage.
