Hilbright Science College is a private educational institution with its main campus based in Harare, Zimbabwe, with a vision to establish unique science education and research colleges across Zimbabwe, the SADC region, and Africa. The college approached me to modernise their ageing brand and digital presence while preserving their strong foundations of academic excellence, integrity, and spiritual values.

The project focused on creating a cohesive visual identity and a modern website that would reflect Hilbright’s forward-thinking approach to science education and student development.

Hilbright’s existing brand and website no longer represented the quality or ambition of the institution. Key challenges included:

  • - An outdated website that lacked clarity, structure, and mobile responsiveness
  • - Inconsistent visual branding across print and digital materials
  • - Limited engagement on social platforms due to fragmented design assets
  • - The need to communicate credibility, professionalism, and educational excellence in a more contemporary way

The goal was to refresh the entire brand ecosystem while ensuring accessibility for students, parents, and staff.

I treated this as both a brand transformation and a digital experience redesign.

Discovery & Strategy
  • - Reviewed existing materials and audited the website structure
  • - Identified key user groups: students, parents, and administrators
  • - Defined core brand pillars: excellence, science, integrity, and growth

Visual Identity Refresh
  • - Refined the logo usage and colour system
  • - Established consistent typography and layout rules
  • - Created a flexible brand style that could scale across web, print, and social

Website Design
  • - Redesigned the site architecture for clearer navigation
  • - Built a modern, responsive interface optimised for desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • - Introduced stronger hero messaging, cleaner content sections, and improved calls-to-action for admissions

Supporting Collateral
  • - Designed student handbook layouts and internal documents
  • - Created digital posters and enrollment materials
  • - Produced branded social media graphics and stationery assets

Throughout the process, I focused on simplicity, consistency, and usability ensuring every touchpoint felt connected and purposeful.

The refreshed brand gave Hilbright a more professional and confident presence both online and offline. The new website now clearly communicates the college’s mission, programmes, and campuses, while offering a smoother experience for prospective students and parents. Key results included:

  • - A modern, responsive website aligned with the school’s academic vision
  • - A unified visual identity across digital and print platforms
  • - Improved clarity around admissions and programmes
  • - Stronger brand recognition through consistent design language
  • - A foundation that allows the college to scale its communications as it grows across regions

The project helped reposition Hilbright as a forward-looking science institution rooted in excellence and values.
